Gerry Grogin '47

Gerry Grogin ’47, the last survivor of the storied 1946 Corregidor Muster, embarked on his Final Corps Trip on Christmas Day, 2024. He lived 98 years to the fullest and passed following a brief illness. Gerry carried that last Corregidor torch with humility and dignity. He was a longtime and dear CCA member, and was well-known and celebrated in many circles of the Aggie Family.

Gerry has been featured in the CCA Guidon as well as several other A&M publications over recent years. These can be easily accessed.

Posted are interviews with Gerry from Fall 2024, likely his last. This is courtesy of Clinton Haby ’02, C-1 of StoryKeeping

The History of Texas A&M's Animal A-1

The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets Company A, Company A Infantry, and Company A-1 all have one thing in common. Company A-1 is, and will always be, the first Cadet Company of the Corps of Cadets.

Company E-2 Combat Veterans Oral History Project

Company E-2 was formed in the 1959-1960 scholastic year as part of a major reorganization of the Corps from Branch Training to general ROTC.  The Vietnam War would soon come, and former E-2 cadets have served with distinction in combat assignments then and since.

Payne Harrison, E-2 Class of '71, journalist, military thriller novelist, and historian, has embarked on the project of recording and perpetuating compelling combat histories of former E-2 cadets. The Texas Aggie Corps of Cadets Association is proud to be the repository of his work.
